9/13 PARK AVENUE South End Neighborhood Walk #11 at 9am

Hi ya’ll! Hope you had a lovely August and are ready to get back into gear during this exciting start of the new school year. We’re looking forward to heading back to the Park Avenue neighborhood for our monthly neighborhood walk. These monthly walks around different locations in the South End are a great way to start the weekend. All are welcome to join us! 😊

Saturday, September 13th at 9am meet up at the IDEA School (6701 Park Avenue) where the walk will begin and end.

Your South End Neighborhood Council guides short monthly walks around South End hot spots where we focus on identifying potential solutions and ideas for neighborhood improvements, as we pick up litter along the way.

All ages welcome! Join upcoming Walking Tour #11 in the Park Avenue neighborhood, and bring your ideas, questions, & comments to help us advocate for ways to make the South End even better.

Community Town Hall

Your Voice. Your Future. Your Neighborhood.

The South End Fred Meyer is closing—and the impacts on food access, jobs, and our community will be real. Let’s talk about it, plan for the future, and make sure our neighborhood is heard.

Join us for a Community Town Hall where you’ll hear directly from advocates, elected officials, and community leaders. We’ll share next steps, resources, and ways to get involved. You’ll also have a chance to ask questions—anything we can’t answer during the meeting will be sent to the right people so you get answers.

Washington is upon us…

We love our weather and we definitely could use the rain, but it does mean that we will be rescheduling tomorrow’s painting party to the following Saturday, August 23rd, 11-2pm.

Thank you to our excellent Partners at the Tacoma Public Library and to our Artist Jesse Peterson we are able to pivot smoothly and enjoy the rain! See you on the 23rd!

Fern Hill Library Painting Party

Come join Jesse Peterson and the South End Neighborhood Council for an all-ages painting party! We will be painting a book-themed mural on the wall around our Fern Hill Library! Please wear grubby clothes and bring a refillable water bottle. All paint and supplies provided. Restrooms and seating available in the library during the event. Water and snacks provided.
