🌞 SENCo is on August recess… but don’t get too excited—we’re still around! 😄
Our General Meeting and Board Meeting are taking their annual August nap, but you’ll still find SENCo out and about, at community events, meeting with partners, working on neighborhood projects, and occasionally wondering how our calendars got so full. 😉
Want to help make the South End even stronger? We’d love to have you! We’re always looking for volunteers for art projects, environmental stewardship, food initiatives, community events, and just about everything in between.
💙 Community is what makes it happen.
If you’d like to lend a hand, send us an email at SENCo253@gmail.com. Whether you have an hour, a day, or a special skill to share, there’s a place for you.
We’ll be back with our next hybrid General Meeting on Monday, September 14 at 7:00 p.m. (the second Monday because Labor Day likes to keep us on our toes).
Until then, enjoy the sunshine, stay hydrated, wave if you see us out in the neighborhood, and have a fantastic August! 🌳☀️
Happy Pride in July in Tacoma! The MANN neighborhood walk is finally happening tomorrow morning, Saturday, July 11. These South End walks are a great way to start the weekend. All are welcome to join us!
Saturday, July 11th at 9am: Meet at Mann Elementary (SW corner of South 52nd Street and South J Street), where the walk will begin and end.
Your South End Neighborhood Council guides these short monthly walks around South End hot spots where we focus on identifying potential solutions and ideas for neighborhood improvements as we pick up litter along the way.
All ages welcome! Join the upcoming walk and bring your ideas, questions, and/or comments to help us advocate for ways that can make the South End even better.
💚 Coffee for walks generously donated by Starbucks at 38th & G 💚
Just a friendly reminder that our South End Neighborhood Council General Meeting is this Monday evening. This will be our final meeting before our summer recess.
We recognize that many people may be enjoying a long holiday weekend and may not be working on Monday. If your schedule allows, we’d love to have you join us.
The meeting will be held in a hybrid format, so you are welcome to attend either in person or virtually.
We look forward to seeing those who are able to make it, and we wish everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend!
