Happy New Year! After SENCo’s holiday recess, we are back and ready to take our next stroll in the South End’s Birney neighborhood. These walks are always a great way to start the weekend 😊 Hope you can join us!

Saturday, January 11th at 9am Meet at Birney Elementary School (7627 South Sheridan Avenue) where the walk will begin and end.

Your South End Neighborhood Council guides short monthly walking tours of South End hot spots to identify ideas and potential solutions for our neighborhoods.

All ages welcome! Join upcoming Walking Tour #4 in the Birney neighborhood. Bring your ideas, questions, & comments to help us advocate for ways to make the South End even better.

Thank you everyone who showed up on September 14th for our first of 25 South End community walking tours, series two! About 15 people joined us for a beautiful morning walk in Larchmont. We took notes about improvements made to the area since our last time there as well as opportunities for additional improvements, and picked up four bags of litter along the way! 🙌 It was a treat to see some old friends and also meet some great new neighbors. Coffee provided by our local Starbucks at 38th & G was much appreciated and kept us warm. 💚

Special thanks this week goes out to April for joining us and sharing thoughts on the route from the perspective of a person in a wheelchair. It was a valuable and eye opening experience for all of us to help better understand about travails of the terrain when traversing it as someone who is differently abled.. 🙏
