Does your use of “hot spots” in the announcement post correlate with the same term used by new Police Chief Moore to designate those persistent high crime areas when he presented to the City Council last month?

Hi Steve! I just found the unread comments section and am replying even to old queries 😉 Hope you’re doing well! In answer to your original question from >3 years ago, no, our hot spot map does not correlate with the same term used by our now ex-Chief Moore. As the SNAPs page of the SENCo website explains, “In the first phase of this ongoing SNAPs project, we worked with UWT Professor Matt Kelley’s AMP team to develop a mapping tool that incorporates community member feedback and highlights particular areas of focus in the South End. Using these data, we chose 25 hot spots and mapped out walking routes in these areas to identify potential solutions at the ground level.” Hope this helps and to see you at another walk again soon 🙂
