Join us in welcoming our newest SENCo board member, Cheryl Kopec! As an Army Veteran who served in Iraq, local Microsoft tech-xpert who is also fluent in French, and the owner of the sweetest service dog Charlie, we are so glad to have Cheryl on the SENCo team! With her experience as treasurer for Occupy and a penchant for organization and numbers, Cheryl has already joined our Executive Board as Treasurer, and we are all grateful to have her aboard! Pun intended 😉  Welcome, Cheryl (& Charlie)!!!

Tidy-Up Tacoma 2021

South End Location #1: Lincoln District 

When: 10am-2pm on September 28, 2021

Where: Meet in front of Starbucks at S 38th St &  S G St at 9:45am

This past year and a half has been tough on all of us, and for our local businesses. We’ve seen the trash piling up and graffiti piling on around the area. Want to help do something about it? Well, SENCo is here for you because we‘re all in this together. It’s time to Tidy-Up Tacoma!

From September to November, the City of Tacoma’s Tidy-Up Tacoma program will be sending out crews to local business districts to clean up litter/debris, perform graffiti removal, right-of-way landscaping, street sweeping, and more!

The first Tidy-Up Tacoma event in the South End is on September 28th in the Lincoln District. (See below for the full schedule.)*

To show our support for the Lincoln District, SENCo will meet up at 9:45am in front of Starbucks on S 38th St & S G St and help out from 10am to 2pm. You’re welcome to join us! We’ll have bags, gloves, vests, and masks available for you.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who showed up to show the South End some love for the August SENCo Summer Fun Clean-Up along Hosmer today! Special shout-outs to Blueberry Park (who donated their weekly Sunday clean-up) & Stafford Safe St groups who came out in full force today! You all were awesome!

We collected about 25 bags of litter in 2 hours! If you missed this one but ❤️ the South End like we do, stay tuned for our next clean-up in September & join us! We’d love to see you there!
